Directional Drilling Operator
Employment Type: Full time, permanent.
Rate: $40 per hour, 30 hours per week.

Relocation Costs: Not covered.

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, ear plugs.
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance.
Transportation/Travel Information:
Valid driver’s license. Travel expenses paid by employer.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; work under pressure; handling heavy loads; physically demanding; attention to
detail; hand-to-eye coordination; combination of sitting, standing, walking; standing for extended periods; bending, crouching, kneeling; large workload.
Work Location Information: Staff accommodation available. Rural area/remote location. Relocation costs not covered by employer.
Work Site Environment: Outdoors, dangerous, wet/damp, noisy.
Personal Suitability: Accurate; client focus; dependability; reliability; judgement; excellent oral communication; team player.
Area of Specialization: Oil and gas well drilling and well servicing. Oil and gas well logging and testing. Offshore drilling rig.
Oil and Gas Well Drilling and Well Servicing Specific Skills: Maintain records of drilling and servicing operations. Train or arrange for training of crew. Direct rig crew in setting up rigs and drilling, completing or servicing oil and gas exploration and producing wells. Ensure safety procedures are followed.
Oil and Gas Well Logger, Tester and Related Worker Specific Skills: Assemble and attach equipment, tools or recorders to drill stem or wireline to conduct required procedures
and tests. Operate or direct the operation of wireline or unit controls to lower, position and retrieve equipment
and instruments. Operate recorders and computers in mobile testing or logging unit to collect data. Perform
limited data interpretation.
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate.
